This two-day online workshop is designed to give museum, library and archival practitioners increased insight into strategies for digitizing scrapbooks.
By the end of the two days, participants will be able to:
- Define and describe the importance and value of scrapbooks as cultural artifacts
- Recognize the value of the content
- Identify various challenges with the condition, preservation and digitization solutions when dealing with historic scrapbooks in Cultural Heritage, library and special collections
- Discuss online presentation models used in the field
We will be looking at the history of scrapbooks, content covered and their importance as well as challenges in condition, preservation of the analog and pros and cons of differing approaches to digitization and presentation options.
NOTE: This course is designed for individual participation. Regardless of whether you attend as an individual or as a group, the fee for this online workshop will be charged for each person who views the session. All participants must register separately.
